This Privacy Policy describes how the SnappingTrail Collect application (the "App") collects, uses, and protects information. By using the App, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Data controller
The App is operated by Navaho Consultoria, hereinafter "SnappingTrail". To exercise your rights or request information about your data, contact us at lsouzaf@snappingtrail.com.
2. Who this policy applies to
SnappingTrail Collect is a professional field-research collection tool. Two categories of people have data processed by the App:
- Interviewers: professionals who use the App to conduct surveys, authenticating with credentials provided by the contracting company.
- Survey respondents: people whose answers are collected by the interviewer during a survey. Respondents do not interact with the App directly — the interviewer is the operator.
3. Data collected
3.1 Interviewer data
- Email address and username, provided during authentication through the contracting company's identity system (Keycloak).
- Internal identifier linked to the surveys the interviewer conducts, to allow traceability and individualized submission.
- Technical operational records limited to App functioning (last login date and time, installed App version).
3.2 Data collected by surveys
- Answers provided by respondents during a survey. The content of questions and answers is defined entirely by the contracting company that configured the survey. SnappingTrail Collect does not determine, suggest, or store for itself the content of questions or answers.
4. Purpose of processing
- Authentication and authorization of the interviewer to use the App.
- Collection and submission of survey responses to the contracting company's server.
- Offline operation: collected responses are stored locally on the interviewer's device until synchronized with the server.
- Technical diagnostics for error correction and App improvement.
5. Third-party sharing
- We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for commercial purposes.
- We do not use advertising in the App. We do not integrate ad networks, third-party trackers, or behavioral analytics tools.
- Interviewer data and survey responses are stored and processed exclusively by SnappingTrail servers and the contracting company that configured the survey.
6. Data retention
- Interviewer data: kept while the account is active at the contracting company. Removing the account at the contracting company removes interviewer data from the system.
- Survey responses: retained according to the policy defined by the contracting company that configured the survey. The App does not set its own retention periods for survey content.
- Data stored locally on the device: removed when the App is uninstalled or when App data is cleared through system settings.
7. Security
- All communications between the App and servers use encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
- Authentication credentials stored locally on the device are protected by encryption (Android EncryptedSharedPreferences).
- The App disables automatic backup of sensitive data (credentials, draft responses, local database) to the operating system's backup services.
8. User rights
Under applicable data protection legislation (GDPR in the EU, LGPD in Brazil, and equivalents), you have the right to:
- Confirm the existence of processing of your data.
- Access your data.
- Correct incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated data.
- Anonymize, block, or delete unnecessary, excessive, or non-compliant data.
- Port your data to another provider upon express request.
- Delete personal data processed based on your consent.
- Be informed about public or private entities with which your data has been shared.
- Withdraw consent, where applicable.
To exercise any of these rights, send an email to lsouzaf@snappingtrail.com stating which right you wish to exercise. We will respond within 15 days.
Important: the responses collected in surveys belong to the contracting company that configured them. Requests regarding those responses should be directed to the contracting company directly.
9. App permissions
SnappingTrail Collect requests the following device permissions:
- Internet access: to communicate with the server during authentication and synchronization.
- Network connection state: to detect when the device is online or offline and adjust App behavior.
- Auto-start after reboot: to allow pending synchronizations to resume when the device restarts.
The App does not request access to camera, microphone, location, contacts, calendar, or external storage.
10. Minors
SnappingTrail Collect is a professional tool intended for adults (18 years and older). The App is not directed at children or adolescents and does not intentionally collect data from minors.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy periodically. Significant changes will be communicated through in-App notifications or by email. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page.
